５７歳女性殺される 同居の弟出頭、容疑で逮捕 草加署＝埼玉
四日午前九時五分ごろ、草加市西町、無職増田和江さん（５７）方で、増田さんが一階和室の布団の中で死んでいるのを、訪れた同市総合福祉センターの女性職員（３９）が見つけ、１１０番通報した。増田さんの首にはひも状のもので絞められた跡があった。草加署が殺人事件として捜査していたところ、同日夜、同居する増田さんの弟の無職利一容疑者（５４）が「私がやりました」と出頭したため、同署は利一容疑者を殺人容疑で逮捕した。
調べでは、利一容疑者は一日午前八時五十五分ごろ、自宅で木槌（きづち）で増田さんの頭を殴った上、首を電話のコードで絞め、さらに風呂場の浴槽に顔をつけて殺害した疑い。調べに対し、利一容疑者は「姉が発作を起こし暴れたので、もうだめだと思った」と供述しているという。
増田さんは知的障害者で、二〇〇二年十二月に母親が死亡してからは利一容疑者と二人暮らし。利一容疑者は四日午前七時ごろ、自宅から外出するのを近所の主婦に目撃された後、所在が分からなくなっていた。
同市などによると、増田さんは二〇〇〇年から同市の福祉施設で週三回、デイケアサービスを受けていた。母親の死後は利一容疑者の希望で、入浴補助などの居宅介護のほか、施設に宿泊するショートステイサービスも受けるようになった。
今月二日もデイケアサービスの予定が入っていたが、利一容疑者が「今日は外出するので休ませて下さい」と申し出て、中止になったという。
